well that's obvious...but UNO is closer to the house

the main thing that is stopping me, is the distance from work. That and i would have approximately 2 years of regular class to get my ME degree...so if i just go at night, it's probably even longer.

I'm just tossing it up right now. I want to get on with a company like Jacobs/Shaw/Performance...and i don't see it happening with the degree that i have...the only thing working for me is the amount of experience i have

frick a ME go the CM route - classes are easier and the demand is their especially if you want to work with a Shaw or other big General Contractors

Construction Management?

I have the Nicholls equivalent to that right now. Focuses around Project Management and implementation of engineer designs

oh and is anyone going to play tonight? I'm trying to get on, but since i'm leaving Thursday, the wife has been giving me shite about my playing time this week and how i need to spend it with the family before i leave...if i'm going to get an arse chewing, i want to know if i'll be getting it for nothing

I understand having to do what you need . If UNO is more convenient then that is obviously the way to go, but LSU's Engineering department is top notch. I know a couple of guys that went there. One is an electrical and works with me and the other is a chemical that works for NASA by way of Jacobs.

I've heard nothing but good things about Jacobs. The only reason the guy I know left, is because his dad was there and plus, NASA gave him too many opportunities. Shaw is a huge company. We've put out some serious projects and they wouldn't even sniff them. I have one coming up that I expect them to bid on, but they probably won't.

What is your degree in?

How many years to you have in right now and what do you do right now?

Why I ask is because if you are doing project management right now and with that degree combined with the experience, I don't see why a company like Shaw wouldn't be able to use a guy like you.

ETA: None of the project managers that I ever worked with had an engineering degree. Just sayin.

I'm hoping Mrs. AJF will be cool with me getting it this Friday. I just want to play a little in the mornings when the baby is sleeping still. She'll never be okay with it, but at least she'll realize that a little video gaming is what makes her man happy.

CE, I'll be sure to put something together for you. In fact, I can send you a PDF of the TestMasters Transportation study section if you want.

I'm a Project Manager for a fabrication company. We build offshore platforms.

I have 6 years of PM experience on top of 5 years of field experience.

i know it's not necessary to have a ME degree, but most of those companies either want a PM with a ME or a PM with 10-15 years of experience.

i always assumed that those types of companies want a PM with a ME or PE in ME for insurance purposes and design abilities. I figured that they want someone with a stamp making decisions on whether this tool will work or this member will suffice etc.

The first game I'll buy is The Show. I just got an extra $60 from a sale on eBay, so you frickers can hopefully get a glimpse of me on MW2 in the near future. I need prayers that I can get this thing this weekend, though.

Its enjoyable just killing Da Clan members by different means..riot shield, RPG, knife, etc. It gives us hope!

Plus I learn to find great camping spots during the match and HIDE!
