Long time gamer, but I have recently taken a couple years off since my Xbox one broke. I've been a long time Xbox guy, but I'm open to change since I don't really have people to play with online since the hiatus. Any advice on a new console would be greatly appreciated. (Xbox one vs Xbox one X and PS4 vs PS4 pro)

Edit: I mostly like shooters(COD, destiny, gears of war, halo), elder scrolls games, and assassin's creed games but haven't tried many other series.

I also do not have a 4K tv at the moment and I do not plan on recording gameplay.

PS has some nice exclusives, since you don't play with friends that would be my vote, but you are about to get a ton of differing opinions.

PS just for the exclusives. XBONE doesn't have the GOTY quality titles like PS4.

What kind of games do you play? Xbox One X is the best console on the market. PS4 has more exclusives.

If you have a 4k tv and can swing the Pro, I would get that. Exclusives on PS4 are also great, and I really don't see the Xbox one X much more than a glorified 4k blu ray player

PS4 slim or PS4 Pro if you have a 4k TV.
