Can someone help with Nintendo handheld devices?

my 8 year old daughter made her christmas list and on it is a Nintendo DS
I google'd it and i now have a headache after seeing 4/5 models of different devices and prices.

Can anyone help narrow down what the best bang for my buck will be? TIA

You want to get the 2DS XL or the switch. Both are good for their own reasons.
If you don't want a switch, get the 2ds xl

I would skip anything to do with 3D. It’s icredibly underutilized and I doubt any kid really cares.

Just get her the switch. She can play the latest and greatest, play it on TV or on the go.
