Can anyone explain the premise of Escape from Tarkov?

I’m not getting it. Is it a BR? A survival looter like DayZ?

It kills video cards. That’s its premise

I did hear that it’s very demanding.

Hardcore tactical shooter with looting elements. Heavy amounts of gun modification, aims to be extremely realistic (to a certain extent naturally), very difficult game.

Not a BR, more like DayZ. I was told it would be a better DayZ eventually, looks like they have a ways to go before it’s there yet. I watch it on streams a bit, still looks clunky

It’s a round based PvPvE looter shooter. You receive quests from the Traders to complete of different variety and difficulty. Also have to “escape” using one of the listed extracts to keep loot found in raid

I’ve played it for the last few months, I really enjoy it. It is a very unforgiving game, you will die and die a lot. I enjoy the quests mixed with in game PvP. They still have some things to fix. The one thing I can’t stand is, the spawn points are hard points. So you know where the players are going to be spawning in. It seems to take away some of the immersion.
If you haven’t played it, it’s worth the money. It’ll keep you busy for a while.

I started playing this game because it looked like DayZ
It's not DayZ, but it feels like it at times.

GeauxTime9, Are you still playing? I'm looking for someone else to party up with. I just got the game last weekend so i'm really green.
