It was annoying at first for me too when most of the weapons you find are wooden club types or rusty swords that break quickly...but once you get farther along in the game and start picking up stronger weapons off dead enemies and have ability to store enough weapons in your inventory, then the weapons breaking thing isnt nearly as big of an issue anymore (except when saving your strong weapons for bosses or lynels).

Right, and the deal is this...if you can strip an enemy of their weapon, that weapon is strong enough to beat that enemy.
