when you first build the canoe make sure you are near water. kill the bull with the second spear.

How is the gameplay? Smooth?

Surprised by how much FightinCowboy hated this game. Posted three episodes of it on his YouTube channel and gave up.

getting on and off the boat/canoe it freezes sometimes but it is easily gotten out of.
It isn't a big ticket game, it isn't bad. I wish there were more pinned places of where to go on the map.
Oceanhorn2 is due out this fall. I will def be getting this game.

I played through the first chapter the other day. Super intriguing. It feels like there's a narrative waiting to happen, and I think that would make the game super enjoyable, but cursory reviews online say it's not gonna happen. I'll give it a couple more hours before I make a decision.
Game looks great. Gameplay is simple, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I got a really great bow and it broke after use. (The easiest way to kill the lizard things and that freaking huge frog thing) It seems like weapons upgrade through losses.
Also I do not like using a mast and sailing it sucks on levels 1-3 at least...
Each time you have to make a boat so I just make basic canoes and paddle sailing sucks.

chapter 5 made it to the ending and ran out of energy. the meals rot too quickly. Also I have played the chapter (is it the last one what a rip) a few times and when I am near a shark comes and knocks me off the boat.

I can't imagine making it that far. I gave it the delete because I couldn't get over the combat system and the controls that felt so clunky to me. Sailing sucked, combat was a chore, I'm out.
