My only true experience with Animal Crossing was the first one on GC and I loved it. I always said Metroid Prime 4 is the only thing that would make me strongly consider finally getting a Switch........this would be a close second.

None of us do. It's some type of witchcraft, I'm convinced.

That original one had me go and buy the GBA and the link cable just so I could go visit that extra island. It had me hooked, and I had several friends who would come over just to check on their towns and residents. Hell we all were huddled around the tv on new year's just to see the fireworks and and the townspeople celebrate.

It really is hard to explain that witchcraft.

Real life is kinda shitty at times and responsibilities can be a drag.

Animal Crossing is just chill as frick and there aren't any real repercussions to anything. Just a fun little escape experience where you can relax and forget about stress.

This is probably it. It's like the least stressful game ever made, while still having goals to achieve.....if you feel like achieving them or not.

One of my saddest moments associated with a game is with the first one. I have 2 brothers and a sister, and we all had a character in the town (which usually meant fighting for time to play). One year I moved to Ohio (thankfully only worked out for about 2 months), and I took the GC. First time I powered up Animal Crossing I saw their houses, and thinking I wasn't moving back, realized that no one was going to live in those houses again.

Super emotional moment.

Dang...

I remember seeing something similar where a kid and his dad played a racing and the dad was always just better than him, could never beat his times.

Dad passes away, and eventually the kid fires up the racing game again and starts a track, and is racing his dad's ghost time. Still cant beat him but keeps playing and getting better, and one day he's going to do it. Ahead of the ghost car and is about to cross the finish line, but he knows if he does the ghost car will go away....so he intentionally stops and lets dad win again so they can keep racing.

Really hope that's a true story.
