Blue prince: Going to give it a go since its so well received. What can I expect?

I have basically no idea what this game is but its reviews are just a hair under expedition 33 and its free on ps plus.

From my understanding it is some type of rogue like heavy puzzle game where you play as a young man sent on a call to adventure by a gift from your recently dead grandfather? Is this right cuz it sounds like it could be amazing.

How difficult is it? Is it an actual roguelike with very easy fail states needing many many reruns?
