I just started to play around online and I am playing on the training mode. My question is do I keep the level increases and upgrades when I finally grow a pair and play with big boys?

No, you start from level 1. I say just jump in and start playing. EVERYONE sucks when they start, and combat training won't make you a beast when you play the real/fake thing.

1st question, Ps3 or Xbox?
Play a couple training rounds just to get the feel for the game. Learn maps and the different guns and perks. Then jump into real matches.
Also, stay away from Domination and Ground War when you start playing. You will get murdered! Play Team Deathmatch

I remember my first match ever I went 1-7. And the first time I broke even I thought I was the man. I had to explain to a buddy of mine that everyone gets better at this shite over time, cause he wanted to just quit after a week or so.

I jumped straight into free-for-all the first time and got my arse handed to me by 8 year old from Honduras or something; I got better and started kicking arse, who's laughing now, cabron!
