I was just frustrated that all the little damn jobs they wanted me to do to level up I couldn't do because I wasn't a high enough level to do them and had no idea how to level up those skills without doing them. These will empty your pockets quick. I got to the point of only upgrading what I used. I rarely touch the repeater or rocket launchers now, so I don't bother with upgrading those.

I go through too much money on this game too. After every fight I go back to the vending machines and refill all my guns and go back out. Also what are the gun upgrades? I bought them all but don't even have some of the guns and how do I activate them to make the guns stronger or do they do it automatically? Also, when it says I have a skill point and I add it, it is still showing the second row of everything gray. How do I add points to those or when do they open up so I can add them?

I think you have to max out the first one in whatever row it is. There are five upgrades per section.

i've bought weapons from vending machines but not ammo, cause, you know, it drops from enemies and can be found in almost any container.(mailbox, locker, crates, buckets, etc. etc. etc.........)

You don't have to max them out, but just enough for that bar to reach the next row. You have two in each row, so some in one and some in another and it will unlock the next batch.
And fool, the upgrades are only for more ammo. It doesn't improve the guns at all. But if you upgrade your SMG ammo, it applies to any other SMG you pick up the rest of the game.

When you said max out, I thought you meant the SDU's, which you can ONLY get in vending machines.
