Tell me wise one what part of my system isn't good enough to run AC:O?

And yeah it has problems with 5.1 and 7.1, I will let google prove you wrong on that one, I switched to "stereo" and now I can hear the dialog in cut scenes.

Are you upgrading your gear and abilities?

Also have to say this is my surprise of the year, the extra time off has definitely helped Ubi. Only to level 15 but this game is a blast and Egypt is a great setting for AC. Loving how more in depth the combat system is and the skill trees, the game reminds me of The Witcher in a lot of ways

Yeah, you definitely have to grind to get your levels up. It's not too bad compared to games like Skyrim though.

It took me a bit to get used to the combat in the game. But the storyline has been fantastic. I've really enjoyed it.

Ok I have a few hours in this game, it's pretty good, the story is good and gameplay is entertaining, there is a metric frick ton on side crap to do. I am doing side quests and the such but all the collections and other stuff not so much but it's my first play style, I can see me coming back and trying to 100% the game, but don't think I will ever be successful just too much. I hope part of the quest takes you into places like the pyramids and Abu Simbel.

I love this game, but I'm going to rant for a bit. These next-gen AC games have been trying to turn into pseudo-action RPGs and it's lame. Staples like smoke bombs, sleep darts, and poison are locked behind a skill tree. You run up to a bandit camp that looks like virtually every other bandit camp only this one is three or four levels higher than your player character, and you get killed in one or two hits by the "boss" of the camp because you had the audacity to run into an area of the world that per your level, you're not supposed to be at regardless of whether or not it makes sense from a world building standpoint (ie why are the Crocodiles in Memphis so much more badass than the ones in Siwa?)

The main story so far as I can tell is just a string of intel gathering and assassination missions. Many of your targets are completely random with no characterization or backstory. The assassination missions themselves are the lamest they've ever been. Go here and kill this dude. The assassination missions in Syndicate and Unity at least gave you alternate routes to complete the same objective.

I am left to wonder why the last generation Assassin's Creed games had so much more to the story. Is it more difficult to render detailed in-engine cutscenes with the next gen engine? Has a new writing team took over the franchise after AC Rogue on last gen systems? The next gen AC games put so much emphasis on the setting that it's more or less all there is now.

The side missions kill any sense of urgency in the plot and only really serve to pad out the length of an otherwise pretty short game. You can't just power through the main story which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but the recommended levels for each story mission are too far apart. Unless you grind through side missions on the front end, you may have to spend 2 or 3 levels doing nothing but side stories. The side stories themselves aren't all that interesting. You are more an errand boy than an assassin.

Bump

Agree with last post in that the game is a bit too grindy. I barely have half the map explored and I’ve got 50 hours in.

That said, exploring Egypt is a fricking blast. My attitude towards this game is about the same as BOTW: exploration is 10/10, everything else is about average. Cleopatra should be bangable, BTW.
