So I am pretty much addicted to this Beat Saber in VR. I don't want any help. I don't want an intervention. I acknowledge my addiction and I am at peace with it! LOL

I'm not coordinated enough for beat saber, I play Cloudlands Putt Putt and Gorn a lot.
I've seen some weird shite in VRChat.
If they ever bring back some form of scripting since they abandoned bringing playmaker in for their own in house version, the community has the potential to crank out some of the most unique experiences in VR and it's not even close. Being able to make your own worlds and characters at the polygon level using unity engine is a ton of fun.

I agree! What the community has done with the custom songs on Beat Saber is amazing.
Thanks for turning me on to Cloudlands!

Someone already mentioned it but GORN is the absolute best. I have PSVR and HTC Vive and have played quite a lot of VR games. GORN is probably the most just outright fun I have had playing a game in a long time. Some about picking a gladiator up ripping his leg off and beating another to death with it. The only issue is you really need alot of room to get the best experience I have smashed about every item in my game room at some point.

I'm digging up this slightly old topic to say that I picked up the Creed / Super Hot PSVR bundle last week and I'm hooked on VR gaming now. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm actually considering getting a PS4 Pro just for the slight bump in visual fidelity.
Astro Bot Rescue Mission is the first platformer to make my jaw hit the floor since Mario 64. Anyone who is a fan of the genre needs to play it. It feels like it should have been made by Nintendo. Also, Beat Saber is ridiculously addictive and Super Hot is a lot of fun too.
I haven't even broken the cellophane on Creed yet, but I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth in just how much fun I've had, not to mention my kids.

Since you have a PSVR you need to grab Resident Evil immediately.

I'm pretty lost to the VR world but if you have a ps4 then all you have to do is by the PSVR headset? Is the beat saber game on there?

I also feel like I'm still getting my "VR legs" a bit when it comes to games with a lot of forward / backward movement and turning. I picked up Skyrim VR and was only able to play that for about an hour before I needed to take a break from the dizziness.
I hear there is a standalone demo for RE7, which I'd like to try first. Do you play on a standard PS4 or a Pro? One problem I had with Skyrim VR was that everything becomes a mess of blurry pixels 10 feet in front of me. I've read the pro fixes that problem. It's the first game I've encountered where it felt like the standard PS4 wasn't able to cut it. I've had no other problems with any of the many VR demos or games I've tried.

quote:You need the PSVR headset, a PS camera, and (for games like Beat Saber), 2 PS Move controllers. This is the bundle I picked up, which included all of the hardware (sans a PS4 console) and 2 games.

However, it was on sale for $250 last week and it appears to be back up to $350 now. It wouldn't surprise me if it drops again before Christmas or if $250 becomes the new standard price at some point early next year.
I bought Beat Saber separately since it just launched a couple of weeks ago for PSVR. It is also worth noting that Sony just announced they'll be releasing a Borderlands 2 VR / Beat Saber bundle in mid-December.

Does the PlayStation version of beat saber allow you to get all the custom songs people are creating? Or is that just PC?

I'm not a huge horror fan but it was worth it to be scared shitless 100% of the time. VR is made for horror. It compliments it. Being dropped in the middle of a horror movie in the most unique gaming experience of my life.
It took me 20 hours to complete a 10 hour game because I moved so slowly looking around every corner.
You will eventually get your VR legs. It took me a week of playing a little more each day. At some point I could play as long as I wanted.
You can tweak the motion in RE7 but I found the tweaks made things worse. I prefer smooth motion to the jerky motion they use to offset motion sickness. I won't touch any of those games that teleport instead of smooth motion.

quote:This is a up close and tight game. Most is played indoors. I have poor eyesight near and far so things are a bit blurry from that.

When you first start the game, the graphics are noticeably bad with the trees and grass. I remember checking the settings, then checking online to see if I was doing something wrong since it was the first time I had used the PSVR.
Once the game kicks into gear, you are far more worried about dying than the graphics being off. Once the game really started, I never thought about it again. Nor did I worry about the 2-4th times I payed in VR.

quote:That makes sense. Skyrim, which is obviously much more open, was the first game I had tried on PSVR that just felt potentially unplayable for me given what I was seeing. It constantly distracted me, but I haven't experienced that with anything else.

I'll check out the RE7 demo this weekend and may report back here on what I think.

The demo isn't going to give you much. Sack up and play the game then report back.
