There is so much good beer out there. Speaking of wheat beer, I just popped an Aventinus Wheat Doppelbock. Great stuff.

In what country is this Holy Grail (pardon the pun) of wheat beers located?

Some great suggestions have been made here.
Wheats are seasonal, so most of them will difficult to find.
My two favorites over the summer were St. Bernardus Wit and Sierra Nevada Kellerweis. I thought they were outstanding and I gave both of them 5 star ratings (on our website).

speaking of wheat beer, they do a blanche de chambly (spelling?) wit that is pretty good. unibroue brews great stuff. if any of you guys have a trader joe's near you, their "trader joe's vintage 2009," brewed by unibroue is out now. it's a dark belgian ale, similar to unibroue's la terrible.

I've never had a beer from Unibroue that I didn't like. Their 17th Anniversary Ale is great.
