My favorite is from House of Pie in Houston. It's a shame they don't ship.

Wherever I'm baking one.

Paternal Grandmother used to win pie contests with her pecan pie. Simple easy recipe that Dad passed down to me. So there's simply no reason other than being lazy for me to buy what I can make in a few minutes of mixing and a few more baking. (Dad was 1 of 10 kids on a cotton farm that Grandma had to work the farm in addition to feeding, clothing, cleaning all 12 of the family. Not a whole lot of "fancy" involved in her doings, no time nor energy for fancy!)

Give it up then....
I will have to remember to bring my recipe book from my place. Remember, I moved to take care of Mom after Dad died suddenly. We live on the opposite side of state from where I was.

I have a dental appointment over that way 1st week of December and usually stay overnight there for that. I'll try to remember to grab it then.

Handwritten recipe book of all the stuff we'd eat when the family was all alive that we never eat now.

Pure ribbon cane syrup was the key to the flavor along with the really fresh pecans out of the yard.
