So the Nola.Eater.com site put out one of it's periodic food maps, this one on on burgers. Displaying their usual journalistic rigor they note Yo Mama's Burger shuttered but make no mention of Port St. Peter that shortly opened in the same space and appears for all effects to be a continuation. The Yo Mama's Facebook page has a few posts noting the menu, cooks and most waitstaff are the same and there is an oblique reference to new owners but no real detail as to the name change.

From pure curiousity I'd like to know a bit more about the changeover if anyone has the detail.

As an occasional fan of the peanut butter burger I'd also like to know if anyone has been since the switch and can attest to the current state of the offerings?

Haven't been since the switch. The last few yrs of yo mamma's being open the quality and consistency had gone way down. Which is really a shame bc it used to be one of the best burgers in the city/FQ. I would send everyone there over Port of Call. From what I've read/heard the owner is a nut who has manic/coke fueled episodes where he has fired his entire staff on several occasions. Not sure what finally caused them to shutter though. The quality of the ingredients had gone down imo and the last few times I had went the burger was a burnt puck sloppy presentation mess.
