How's the food ? Don't see it mentioned much.

I'm going to meet a HS friend who is town for dinner Tuesday night, it's where he wants to go.

I’ve always thought of it as a solid neighborhood restaurant.

It is good but I enjoy it more in winter bc the food is pretty heavy.

Still a great place. The oysters there are some of the best in the city. You can tell them you want the Po boy without the bread and just get an oyster plate. The onion rings are good. If they have the seafood gumbo get it. The crawfish Mac and cheese and oysters w/ blue cheese apps are good.

Also, they generally have some chef specials. The veggies are grown next door in their own garden so you know it’s fresh. I love the place if you can’t tell.
