All of Tigerland minus Freds

A friend of mine insisted on going to Fred's for "free drink Friday" this past Friday...you can include Fred's and just say "all of tigerland".

Tigerland bars shouldn't be in the discussion. They're places designed to get large groups of college students very drunk for very cheap. They all succeed at that.
Ivar's is the worst bar in Baton Rouge. It's an overpriced sports bar with a shite beer selection, shitty service and shitty TVs.

My worst bar experience not counting tigerland was probably Duvic's. GF heard about it from someone else and wanted to check it out, so me, her, and her sister went...walked in and it was pretty empty...had a weird, creepy, claustrophobic feel to it and a strange group of patrons there in general. Decided to leave after a couple drinks and noticed some guy who was there by himself behind us when we were walking out. Decided to stop just outside and the guy walked past us, went across the street toward Chelsea's, and made a large circle walking back toward Duvic's...I'm fairly positive he was attempting to follow us. The whole ordeal was very strange. I'm sure that's not indicative of how the bar normally is, as it gets a lot of praise on here, but it was enough to make me not want to go back there. Just not my kind of place.

Back about 10 or so years ago, Duvic's was a fun place. Good crowd, with some real pretty bartenders and they served good food. But the last few times I have been there, it was full of middle aged drunks -- the good looking young crowd was gone. And the place is just laid out funny.

You don't think that maybe they were the good looking crowd ten years ago?

Also, Duvic's has three phases of the day - Happy Hour, Transition, and late night.

Happy Hour is full of locals from the neighborhood, transition is really empty and weird most times, but nice for a quiet drink.

Late night is when the younger crowd comes in.

I dunno about management. Could have been the crowd moved on. I know I went there a lot, but stopped going in favor of other places.
