Top 50 vineyards awards came out and it’s pretty interesting.
Methodology is more based on the Winery/Vineyard itself. It has to be open to the public and based on the overall experience at the winery rather than based on the wine itself.
Last years winner was Catena Zapata, who do make excellent wines in South America.
Interesting ones on this list:
Marques De Riscal in Rioja, Spain is 1. Never had their wines but they do have several affordable ones at TW, I do plan on getting one soon.
I have had the #2 vineyards wines, VIK from Chile. They have a Cabernet you can get at TW for only 29 bucks. It’s fantastic for the price and significantly better than a wine like Bonanza for a few dollars more.
Ruinart at 6 is the highest ranked Champagne vineyard.
Domaine Wachau at 33 makes great Austrian white wines you can get at TW for decent prices.
In the 51-100, they have William Chris in the Texas Hill Country outside Fredericksburg at 63. A property worth going to if you’re out there. I had fun there. Only vineyard on the list I have been to.

Penfolds should be higher imo

Like I said I have little baseline for a lot of these places. It’s more based on the vineyard experience.
Penfolds makes incredible wines I have no idea what the actual winery is like
