I heard all downtown wine walks have been put on hold till further notice.

I think that's a rumour, I wouldn't doubt PR's involvement. Here's the entire letter:

Hello Everyone-

Reports of the Wine Walk's demise are highly exaggerated...

Thanks to the continued patronage of frequenting downtown Baton Rouge's wildly successful Wine Walk on Wednesdays, many of the outstanding restaurants and bars have decided to take this program to the next level. With proceeds from your registration dollars going directly back into the downtown area, the united front that we bring will enable us to provide each and every one of you with specials on not only Wednesdays, but also Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays as well! The brand new downtown Baton Rouge alliance, Entertain Downtown, is in the process of developing this extended program so please stay tuned for more details in the weeks to follow.

That being stated, the show will go on and this week's Wine Walk will be bigger and better than ever! Below is the schedule for what you can expect this Wednesday, September 23rd:

5:00-6:30 Registration- This week's registration will be held in The Shaw Center Breezeway in between Stroube's and The Roux House. In the event of rain, please see The Roux House for registration.
5:30-6:30 Captial City Grill/Stroube's- The group will be split into two for this round of the walk. Please see the Capital City Grill waitstaff for their Wednesday specials. Stroube's will offer complimentary finger foods in their lounge in addition to their featured wines. Stay and dine and you will receive 10% off your bill!
6:30-7:30 Tsunami- Offerings include complimentary edemame in addition to their pair of featured wines.
7:30-8:30 Boudreaux & Thibodeaux's- Offering a little lagniappe of Cabernet & Cajun appetizers from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Balcony Bar.
8:30-9:30 The Wine Loft- Please see The Wine Loft staff for their Wednesday specials.
9:30-10:30 The Roux House- In addition to enjoying your $4 glass of featured wine at the final pit stop of the walk, stay and enjoy the acoustic tunes of Allison Collins on the courtyard. Be sure to grab sliders while you're there or swing by Schlittz & Giggles after for late night slices.

Your $10 registration will include 2 tastings of featured wine per stop (total of 12 tastings) with those respective wines being featured at $4 per glass thereafter.

Please note that your registration fee does not include tipping your hard-working bartenders so please take care of them as well! We certainly look forward to continue growing this popular program so your feedback is always welcome and encouraged.

We thank you again,

Entertain Downtown

I know the guy is making money somehow, but I support it until something better comes along. Getting people drinking downtown is good.

This is the facebook message sent out at 9:31 am.

Thanks for all of the support and emails guys. We will meet at the fountain next to Kona Grill. There will be no charge but would like everyone to wear a wristband to show the new places how many people are in support of our event. The Loft has a complimentary wine tasting from 6pm - 8pm. There are many restaurants and a couple bars. We haven't talked with all of the places so tonight is to show them how we roll. W and I will be by the fountain from 5:30pm to 6:30pm and then The Loft after that.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Loft has complimentary wine tastings every Wednesday at this time, or maybe on most Wednesdays. If I'm right, there's no need to pay this guy anything.

You don't have to pay for the Perkins Rowe walk.
