like I said, I'm by no means a wine snob, but....

I had a 2006 from robert mandavi recently and thought it was pretty decent. Wasn't very expensive either.

Is a household name and isn't bad. It's great as a party wine among many friends.

What do you have in mind as a good wine?

I like visiting wineries in Sonoma and Napa. I visited Chateau St Jean last fall and bought several of their wines. They are good. The winery is beautiful, but they do charge for tasting. That seems to be the case in most places now. Just curious since you live in L.A. if you ever go to Napa and Sonoma. I'll also go to the wineries north of Santa Barbara sometimes.

My most recent Cab was from Torciano (Tuscany). It was good, but I doubt I'll buy it again. Long story, but their customer service is terrible.

well, what you posted is a $10 bottle of wine. The RM 2006 select is about $140, how much are you looking to spend?

No, what I posted is a $45 bottle of wine.

Chateau St. Jean Sonoma 2007 Cinq Cepages Cabernet Sauvignon.

Yes, I'll enjoy a winery both north and south of Los Angeles. I haven't had a chance to get up to Napa in a while but I do need to change that sooner rather than later. I've always had a good time up there. I need to find the winery I went to just north of San Diego. It's lost in my photo album somewhere...

The customer service reference was rather funny, ha. I'm always looking for good deals on good wine. I usually entertain a lot therefore for those occasions I'm interested in hearing opinions of good wines.

I'm looking for recommendations high and low. It's more of a frist trial before buying a case or for parties.

At your house or a liquor store? Why would you get a cab from 2007?

LINK

Did you type in "Cinq Cepages" ?

It was $55 on sale for $45.. All those links for purchase are over $40 a piece. If you can find it for $15 a bottle (exact bottle) I will literally take 25 from your store and have you ship them to me for parties.

Grocery Store while loading up on food to cook this evening.

I'm rather impressed for such an impulse try.

Time to see what recommendations people have considering it's now 5 p.m. out here and things are slowing down for today.

Try and find a 2004 Jordan cabernet. Mind blowing.

I've had Jordan before and I consider myself a fan.

The Jordan rated 93 so it scored higher than my indulgence last night. I never realized it was rated so highly but I've been a fan of Jordan since I lived in NYC many years ago.

For daily wine drinking my favorite is J Lohr. It isn't great, but the value is very tough to beat. I always have atleast a case on hand.

Sun, you have to try this one as well. Swanson Alexis. Ridiculously good cabernet.
