My wife love wine and loves sitting around with her family drinking wine and eating Italian cheeses and meats. I was going to go to martins and get some wine and a gift card for some cheese and meats from there. Also looking for a cool cheese board. Any ideas

Wine all depends what the person likes: red/white, sweet/dry, earthy/fruity, light/medium/heavy body, etc.

Boards: you can get some customized boards online for a decent price that look really good.

You are going to the right place. Martin Wine Cellar has an excellent cheese and cold cut tray and the staff (Steve or Jeff in Metairie) will help you pick out a great bottle of wine.

NOLA Boards has lovely locally made cutting boards, including long, skinny presentation boards perfect for cheeses and meats.

Why not do a gift card to St James Cheese? Great cheesemongers who will happily give samples of whatever you’d like to try, with a wonderful selection.

Look at Martins food board. They have a 3 and 5 cheese plate that you can get togo. You can tell them the types of cheeses you want and they will put it together for you. They add crackers and strawberries or grapes with some nuts too and it's a great deal.

Wait a few months and 3 Tails will be opening up across the breezeway from Whitestar and it will be specializing in this exactly.
