I've never used butter, but every once in a while I feel frisky and put a little dollop of mayo in with my bowl. Makes it creamy and rich.
ETA: I also use a little bacon grease when I cook them. Makes it tasty as hell!

Never have. Mine is always creamy enough without it. Don't even need to throw any in a blender.

Yeah I mash some beans and add butter. Just how I know to do it.
