Just polished off my first Evan Williams single barrel, not sure how you can beat it in its price range.

Fantastic.

I know nothing about rum, but going to visit a cousin in FL who prefers rum over bourbon. Which bottles would make a really good gift?

If he is serious about rum anything Foursquare, Worthy Park of Hampden would be big hitter bottles. They might also be a little hard to find. If you can’t find those look for bottles by Plantation and Real McCoy that say Barbados Rum it is just Foursquare they those companies sourced, Another that is good is JM Rhum XO it is usually available and is a spicier style that is unique. Actually I think Seelbachs online still has a 14yr old Worthy Park for $99. I have a bottle and it is excellent.

What are your thoughts on these? I've passed on their rolling fork picks, but I did seriously consider pulling the trigger a few times. Blind buying at that price point is a big gamble.

I stopped by my normal spot for liquor and asked what kind of rum selection he had. He offered me a Last Drop for $4500. I don't like my wife's cousin that much

1PD. I always wanted to try the KC 15 year. How does it compare to the 12.
I always keep a backup or this Alberta. Love it

I have about 6 bottles of Rolling Fork, the two I opened are both Seelbach picks. One Worthy Park 14 the other that Foursquare. Both are excellent, that Foursquare is full of caramel, butterscotch and even some praline notes, has nice heavy mouthfeel. When you add water the fruits start to come out and some spicy notes on finish. You are paying about $10/ year on these. Also being single cask and not exactly fitting the distillery character adds uniqueness.

I’m curious about this too, I find the 12 year very oaky, almost too much oak.

The 12 120 picks are great that I have had, the 15 is a hair smoother between a Weller 12 and 107 to me in comparison of KC bottles….

NPD a wonderful Maisano’s pick
