It's good! The first thing I noticed was the spice. That's not something I associate with Jeffersons usually, but I've only had a handful of their offerings. Barton's came to mind on the initial sip.
However through the power of suggestion or just a function of opening up with a little air, I found the second pour to be more interesting. It includes fruit and a funky oak note, which leads me to believe you might be on to something with the WT comparison.
I agree with you on the price point, but someone had to pay for the trip to Singapore. Compared to other 100 dollar releases, it holds its own pretty well.

Friend bought this at auction about 12 years ago for $300. He is looking to sell it. What would be a fair price?
I’m no Willett expert but easy five figures to the right buyer

Did you see that the 2023 bottle that Breaking Bourbon reviewed got 5 stars? Pretty wild.
Drinking my favorite shelfie rye, 2PD, same bottle of FPD but much different pour

It seems to always get positive reviews, but they don't give 5's away. To me, this one (22) has several of the same characteristics. The oak is what stands out to me. It's similar to what you experience in older bourbons and something I just don't get in other ryes. It's also got a good bit of fruit, especially citrus. There's some spice, but not nearly what you get in a lot of ryes. It's pretty unique.
More often than not I actually prefer the barrel strength rye. It's a very different profile. Both are well worth seeking out.

My favorite Michter’s rye is the toasted, but they are all very solid.
