That's what I was saying, those Luxardo cherries really are clutch in an old fashioned.

Today may be a good day for my bourbon collection, DBP.

Last night was a good night. My vote went to wheated whiskey and it brought home a big victory

Was just talking about the wheaters in general. They were all great.

It is a single barrel version that is a non chill version.

Yea I have 2 like that...different ones....I wanted to see your label to see how it compares to one of mine it looked similar. You ever did a side by side?

Oh yea Judge? I'll be interested to see. This week and next will hopefully be similar for me as well...

How'd the whiskey hold up to the bourbons??

I'll take a shot of the label when I get home.
I have a regular JPS18 open also and have tried them side by side a few times. The biggest difference is the waxier mouthfeel of the non chill filtered version. Definitely pick up a few sweeter notes and richer fruit tones in it. Both are phenomenal though.

It was great in its own right. It's fairly complex and has some good spice for a straight wheat. We got a lot of tangerine and light vanilla notes on the nose with some cinnamon and oatmeal undertones. Palate was spicier than anticipated and tasted some caramelized cinnamon apples and vanilla bean with the citrus notes being more subdued. My only complaint would be a bit short of a finish for its age, but figure it's due to the softness of the wheat.
