In case you missed it several pages back that 4R you sent was incredible. I'm now hooked on that mashbill. Would you say the Calandro's is an outstanding barrel pick for that mashbill or representative of all the OBSV ones you've tried?

ah, i did miss that! glad you like it! i think most agreed that was the best local barrel of 4Roses. I know the current retail single barrel is OBSV so it shouldnt be too hard to do a comparison. OBSK is my favorite and OBSV is pretty similar.
I think OBSV is one of their better recipes but I also think it was a good barrel selection Calandros did

I cant say that I have. I've got a '14 LE single barrel which is OESF, havent opened yet though.

Deadbird, I just left E's. I swung by after lunch at agave and they have their EHT rye on sale for $59 if you're interested. It's one of my favorite ryes.

exactly, markets will be flooded soon. however, this is the downside to the BBB. it's the reference people will continue to try to use even when the market is flooded. before BBB it was up to buyer and seller to agree on a fair price. now there may be just "price is BBB bitch". we'll see how it shakes out

What do you mean? The Calandros OBSV barrel was better than the Alexanders OESO barrel and the Alexander OESO barrel was better than the other Calandros OESK

Just didn't know what those letters stood for. I see now they are different mash bills and years.

aaaah my bad... yea 4Roses has 10 different "recipes" derived from their 2 mash bills and 5 different yeast strains. They explain it in detail on their website.
