I've got a couple of Straight from the Barrels I'd be happy to swap for Jeffersons 18s...

Finally had some Old Scout at Mansurs this evening. Didn't really do anything for me. Had a very dry finish and a lot of rye. The rye didn't bother me but the rye combined with that dry finish left me wanting some water. More age would do this one some good for sure

Thanks for the intel on that place. Hit it up last night...hell of a selection!! Started with JPS18, 4r LE 2014, van winkle rye, wlw, and capped it off with a H16. All amazing...the van winkle rye tho was delish!!

I think there may have been a second page...I just staired at what was in front of me

Where the shite is that?? Was kinda disappointed in Mansurs last night. They almost always have a few van winkles and btac. Best stuff they had was handy and the 2 orphan barrels. Settled for Old Scout and didn't care for it

Nola on Saint Charles. They have all 3 pappys but they only sell as a flight so the bottles empty evenly. 1/2 oz pours $65. The h16 is 1oz but the rest I think are 1.5oz. They had rhetoric too but not on the list...so there may be others.

Went to olive or twist last night. Damn impressive bourbon selection in BR. All btac and pappy 20 and 23 behind the bar. But I got to pours of 4r 125th for 18 each. Not bad. Btac were all $24 pours

Glad you liked it...place is well known for beer selection, but Polly has really done well with the bourbons upstairs.

It's a bar or restaurant? Might check it out next week. Is it a place to bring the wife.

Its a bar but they have food...not sure what tho we didnt eat. They have a good Italian place we went to down the street called Vincents. If you go there make reservations it gets packed.

Bar with pretty good pub food...burger is solid, cheese fries (w/ bechamel sauce, not melted cheddar) are really good. You should definitely check it out...upstairs (where all the good bourbon is) doesn't open until 5pm, they also have "crafty hour" from 4-6pm where all American craft beers are $2 off. (ETA: beer selection is world class)

Wife & I have gone often and though there may be more dudes than ladies there, it's not a place where women can't enjoy their stay.

And yes, Vincent's is pretty good Italian. It is just about all the way down St. Charles toward the Riverbend...not terribly far away (10 mins or so by car) but not right around the corner.

For some serious cocktails (and almost as good a bourbon selection), cab it to Cure on Freret. Upscale atmosphere w/ all the BTAC usual suspects, along with some other rare ones.
