I have gotten small ones already seasoned from Chris' Specialty meats. Really clean and preinjected, but they are kind of proud of them.
LSUDad (RIP) used to always recommend a butcher in Plaquemine. Post back if you don't have any luck and I'll ask a guy I work with that does some catering.

i will also give a +1 to the place in plaquemine. it's on belleview near the high school. i think it's roucher's or rouchet's... we got a small hog to cook in a cajun microwave once and was great!

I have gotten 3 or 4 from Scallans on Airline. You can stock up on turkey necks while you are there.

Scallans on Airline near Plank
Gotten them there plenty of times, and you can get them to inject or not.

The only ones fresh are from Rouchers 687-4258. Scallans and Chris's are frozen from a packing plant in Pontchatoula and also more expensive.
$2.09 a pound. Give her two days notice. She also can process deer and you can also get a calf or a lamb.
I've bought several from them the last two or three years since the old guy in Turkey Creek I used to buy from went to prison. They do a great job.

Wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the heads up.

They tell you. They used to get them from the stockyard next door but now all they buy is prepacked and they butcher from there. Rouchers has them in a pen in back and will shoot them in the head while you wait. Now that's fresh.
just sayin...

You're right. That is about as fresh as it gets.

Do they have small ones, maybe around 25-30 lbs?

in college, we had a "committee" set up and in place, that was responsible for "borrowing" pigs..

If you tell them in advance they will get it for you. Smallest I've gotten was 46 lbs and that is a great size. It will still feed a ton of people and only takes about 6 hours to cook on a rotisserie. I wish it would cool off. I'm ready to cook another one. Cook it, pick it, chop it, carolina sauce it, slaw it on bun it, eat it.
Repeat several times.
Sweet tea vodka goes good with pig. Both will make you sit on the front porch with mammy from Alabammy and talk about how pretty your sister is.

My sister could double for Skeletor. She needs more than a sammich.

I wasn't talking about your sister in general. Let me rephrase that. It'll make me sit on the porch and talk about my sister.

This thread got me to thinking I'd like a Cajun Microwave. Anybody know a local guy that home makes them?
Al Simon's makes a nice one, but I'm not really looking for $1,500 nice.
