Not sure if this belongs here or travel board.

We will have a group of 6 adults and 1 toddler. Everything I see is saying make your reservation early, but I'm not looking for a 5 course fancy meal. I need somewhere good that I won't burden by bringing a child.

What area of the city will you be staying?

What do you want to eat?

I honestly don't know of any restaurants here that do Thanksgiving menus, but I'd be happy to look around.

Lived here a bit more than 6 years so happy to answer any other questions about the city too. Though there's a long thread on the TB that may have answers.

We are staying in the Everett area.

I know that not every restaurant is open on Thanksgiving. Our main criteria is suitable for children.

My searches have mostly turned up fancier places that aren't kid friendly.

Thanks for not being a dick and recommending Applebee's

The new Encore casino opened in Everett a couple months ago. I haven't been yet (the table mins are $50 from what I hear and I've never claimed to be an OT Baller ), but those I've spoken with who have gone said there are some nice looking restaurants inside. So if you wanted to stay near your place, that's a good spot to start. Also, Night Shift Brewery is in Everett and worth a visit.

But to be honest - Everett isn't a great area. So I'd get out of there and explore Boston proper instead.

If the most important thing is kid-friendly, then maybe look into the following. I'm not sure whether or not they'll be open on Thanksgiving night, but these places do seem like they'd fit the bill:

Eastern Standard - A top 5 restaurant in Boston for me. Classic, yet approachable French Brasserie with excellent food and cocktails in Kenmore Square. May be a touch fancy with kids, but I've definitely seen families with kids in there before.

Legal Harborside - think a slightly nicer Chimes vibe, but with a shittier beer list. Food is good, not earth shattering, but good.

La Brasa - In Somerville, great menu with a pretty casual atmosphere so kids wouldn't be out of place entirely.

Five Horses - standard new american food but their beer list is incredible

I'll keep thinking about other options and post some more. We don't have kids so it's a little trickier for me to think of spots that are kid friendly, but I'm sure more will come to me. In the meantime, here is the Travel Board thread I referenced.

Thanks man. I'll check out some of those places.

We just got the Airbnb in Everett near the river. We were planning on spending most of the time in Boston proper.
