I live in East Baton Rouge....Where should I eat???

My parents are in town and I need a really good place to take them to. not too fancy, but not too shabby either. American, Italian, or Mexican.

Thanks!!!

The two new local places are a good bet. Dingo's...on Coursey near Sherwood...used to be Semolina's, and Pinoy right across the street from Dingo's in the Lake Sherwood(?) shopping center...in the corner near Miletello's Shoe Repair...These are not in the three groups you mentioned but quite good, and do not actually require to big a leap of faith trying something new.

BJ's Brewhouse...American...Mall of Louisiana

Portabella's...Italian...Coursey near Alberson's

La Carreta's on Govenment or one of several locations of Las Palmas...O'Neal @ I-12, Coursey near Dingo's, etc.

Phillapino. Much emphasis on pork, but beef, chicken and fish/shrimp dishes also available. Most around $8.00

Crispy Pata is the most expensive item on the menu at $17.50 but a LARGE portion of VERY good pork similar to couchon de lai.

Hmm

Filipino food sounds interesting.

Is there a menu online or anything?

Well, the theme is Australian. The menu includes fish tacos, burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken curry, scallops with risotto, salmon. Also, Pumkin soup...yes...and a slightly different take on chili...both very good. Been several times and ALL good so far. I think a previous thread on the place includes a picture of the menu. Do a search for other threads to find the photo.

Good choice. But try the two new places sometime...when the oppurtunity presents itself. Experimenting wtih the folks may not be the right time, but they are both good.
