? New Orleans probably has more banana trees per capita than any city in the country.

Great. I'm not going to go knock on someone's door and ask for Banana leaves. I need to find somewhere I can purchase them.

I know what you're asking but it's kinda like "does anyone know where I can buy some acorns." You don't buy them, they're just ... there.

I pilfer (for lack of a better term) herbs in my neighborhood all the time.

I can't remember the last time I bought rosemary.

I know where there's plenty of banana trees where I could easily grab a leaf or two, if needed.

I've been told by a lady from Honduras that she buys them frozen at Union Supermarket in Kenner, West Esplanade at Williams. She uses them to make Nacatamales (tamales) and says you must have them for the correct flavor.
