North State street in Jackson, MS. Long gone for many years now.

I lived on the Ross Barnett Reservoir from 70-72 and worked at the now defunct "Old Trace Marina" that was next to the Yacht Club at the time.

Back then, County Line Rd. was a simple 2 lane blacktop with cow pastures, the occasional Mom & Pop general store and a few trailers leading from the interstate to the local roads surrounding the reservoir.

The road to the marina paralleled the Natchez Trace and was nothing but a quiet wooded area leading to the marina and yacht club.

I went up that way about 3 years ago now after 40+ years away and couldn't believe the changes. County Line Rd. is a commercial corridor 4 lanes wide and the quiet, wooded access road to the long gone marina is lined with houses in what appears to be gated communities.

All the wooded areas I road my dirt bike back in the early 70's are now lawns with $500K+ houses with lake access on them.

It was good to see Main Harbor Marina was still in operation. I remember their being 4 marinas back when I worked on the reservoir. Not sure how many are now left.

Can't say I've ever had a coke float but have had many root beer floats in the past.

Barq's was my go-to until I tried one with A & W Root Beer and that was a game changer for me.
