I transitioned over to the Amazen tube and got a deal on a 2 pound bag of the Pitmasters Choice blend (Cherry, hickory and maple) but they're a little pricey at regular price compared to other. From $1.40 up to $3.00 per pound depending on what size you get.

I've seen Lowe's has a 40 pound bag of the Pitboss Competition Blend for $15. Have y'all run this particular blend? I've seen mixed reviews on the Pitboss pellets because they don't run 100%, an apple may be 60% Hickory, 40% Apple to keep costs low whereas Amazen runs 100% whatever wood you buy. Don't 5think that matters much to me as I plan to run a blend anyway.

Use it all the time. Ran the grill for 5 hours yesterday and it burned about 2 large cups of pellets.

A whole bag makes about a full cup of ash.

I run pit boss only because it’s the cheapest and I get a good smoke on it. I bought 2 40lb mixed blend(hickory, apple, maple)bags from Walmart for $30

Ace hardware has a very good selection of Traeger pellets. I’ll get oak and hickory.

That said I don’t see a huge difference unless I use smoke mode.

You start it with charcoal and place wood in afterwards.

Charcoal is tough to get going though right.

It’s so easy to rustle your jimmies. I’m sure your meat tastes fine on that pellet thing.

I had one experience using my dad’s pellet smoker. It involved hamburgers and I damn near killed BigErn.

Paging List ....

He sent me a pic of his dad blowing one up.

Sounds like it’s a skill not to kill the family with a pellet grill

I actually really like the Louisiana grills competition blend. Made these bad boys tonight. Come at me with your "pellet grills don't create smoke rings" bullshite...
