Typical family business including Off shoots, divorces, in fighting and similar recipes.

Ditto what BigPerm said. I've frequented both places, N.Hullen and Judge Perez and I can't discern any difference in the quality or taste of the King Cakes between the two.
Hell, I buy way more large chocolate eclairs and shoe soles a year from the Judge Perez location that I do King Cakes.

the only discernible difference is the type of sprinkles they use.

There are more than two: Randazzo’s Camellia City bakery in Slidell, Nonna Randazzo’s in Covington, Caluda’s (ex-wife of one of the Randazzos, maybe Manny?), Caywood & Randazzo’s in Chalmette.......
