What should I baptize my new grill with?

Just bought my first charcoal grill after owning a couple different gas grills. Planning on doing something on it tomorrow possibly depending on the weather. What should I do first?
I haven't BBQ'ed anything really ever, only some grilling. I'm thinking maybe of doing some beer can chicken or something simple and small since it will only be the family.
Want to get into smoking some meats eventually, as I've always been intrigued by it.
Thanks for any advice.

Make you some ribs or brisket, if you can tell the difference.

Zach, take thyself off into the woods far away from any ears, and slap yourself until you scream.

I already live in the woods. Would have to take myself into the city.
