Early dinner at C&H Cafeteria in Kernersville with the wife. Haven't been in forever.
Saw the thread the other day and have been craving a cafeteria since.
I had potatoes and gravy
Fried chicken
Fried okra
Garlic bread
Chocolate pie
Same thing I listed in the thread as my go-tos..
Wife had a veggie plate.
I don't take pictures of food in restaurants.

Those tortillas look awesome - did you make from scratch?
I didn't make them from scratch but I plan to start. I bought a tortilla press recently and my first batch was a failure. Just didn't have the water to masa ratio right. Plan on figuring that out later.
These were a store bought brand.
I used a flat bottom wok. Sliced the leftover ribeye into small cubes. Seasoned it with some Chef Merito carne asada seasoning. Seared it in blazing hot pan. Then heated the tortillas about 40 seconds or so on each side in the little bit of fat that was left in the wok after cooking the meat.
Topped with chopped onion and a store bought verde sauce. Didn't have cilantro on hand so added some green onion on top too.
This is the brand of tortilla I used.

Thank you. I have made flour tortillas from scratch that come out fine, but I cant get to that translucent perfection like they have at Lupe Tortilla in Houston. I'm guessing it's the type/amount of fat I'm using, but I haven't been able to perfect it.
I'm pickier about corn tortillas. Will definitely try the El Millagro you suggested - thanks for the info.
