On my way up to West Lafayette for the weekend. I have a friend on the Purdue strength staff. I know it’s random but anybody got any restaurant recommendations?

South Street Smokehouse was good 20 years ago.
Triple X is a good greasy spoon and make their own rootbeer.
Scotty's brewpub is a local chain, nothing spectacular but they can hang.
If yall can get a few hours, go have St. Elmo's in Indianapolis. Great steakhouse, might see some Indy drivers. I have a few times before see race-related folks, even in off-season.

Triple X is a Triple D spot.
Nine Irish Brothers is a decent Irish Pub, and Harry's Chocolate Shop is a West Lafayette tradition. Both are reasonably priced bar food type places with good atmospheres and good food.
Sorry, I don't have any more "upscale" spots. My son goes to Purdue and when we take him out, he doesn't want to go to nicer restaurants.

If you are in the mood for fast food chain, try Dogs and Suds. It's an old fasioned drive-in if you're into nostalgia...
