So I saw the announcement for Bonci (famed Roman baker/pizza guy who also has US locations) back in September....here's the Eater piece on it: LINK
No dates were given....does anyone know anything about this development on Julia St.? Timeline?

is it going to be in the Julia at St. Charles development? The residential portion of that development is leasing out units starting in June so it’ll probably be sometime around then.

Did you go to the original Bonci Pizzarium in Rome?

I have been and it is really really good. My wife was pretty annoyed by having to sit on the curb outside but she did say the pizza was amazing.

Yes, and I have Gabriele's cookbook. Looking forward to seeing if the NO location will feature some LA seasonal stuff....

Bump: I saw some generic national press somewhere about Bonci opening in "spring". Well, now, that's come and gone. Anyone got the 411?

Bonci Pizza Who: Gabriele Bonci, chef/owner of Rome-based Bonci

What: New Orleans’s Warehouse District will be the third U.S. location of Italy’s Bonci Pizza, which made its U.S. debut in Chicago in Summer 2017. The style of pizza is called “al taglio,” a rectangular slab of dough cut into slices with scissors and sold by weight, similar to focaccia. Bonci is known for its heirloom wheat-based dough, produce from biodynamic sources, and Italian cured meats and cheeses. For the 50-seat restaurant on Julia Street, Bonci will introduce a muffuletta pizza.

Where: 730 Julia Street in the ground floor of The Julia, a new $50 million mixed-use development in the Warehouse District.

When: Early July 2019

I'll definitely give it a month or 2 before I venture to go but it's on my list...well a lot of places are.
