I've never heard of anyone doing this. Does it say this because it only reaches about 130 degrees?

I wanted a very basic dehydrator but if 130 isnt high enough maybe i should send it back and get something a little better.

My dehydrator is about 15 years old. I don't know how hot t gets but about 130-150 sounds about right. You do not need to cook the jerky ahead of time. At least I nevaer had. Just marinate overnight and place in the dehydrator for 6-10 hours depending on the thinckness.

130 isn't high enough to safely dehydrate. My Presto goes up to 165. I usually do 4 hours at 160 and I've had no issues. If doing 130, I'd make sure to cook it longer and use a curing salt.
