If we're talking donuts, nothing beats the Monday morning breakfasts I had as a child. The leftover donuts were cut in half, buttered on the cut side and broiled until just golden, served with freshly fried bacon. I always skipped eating my share of the Sunday donuts, so I'd have more for Monday's breakfast. We fought over those things.

Otherwise, one of my favorite things is a jumbo lump crabmeat and spinach timbale that I make. It's in two layers, one with the crabmeat and the other with the spinach. I serve it with a beurre blanc and all of the flavors work together so well that I actually hold each bite in my mouth longer than is necessary.
