How much of temp swing do you have in yours? Mines currently 40 degrees and I feel like this is way too high

Cooking and I’m talking about the temp that reads off the digital display on the grill

Make sure you don't have the food button pushed. I've done that before and thought the thing was all screwed up but it was just showing the temp of the food.

Also, if it's higher than you want, check the placement of the heat shield. It may be throwing a ton of heat to one side.

Lastly, check to make sure your auger is feeding pellets. Too many or no pellets will affect it quite a bit.

After calling Green Mountain I figured out the problem my grill came assembled and they didn’t install the heat shield at the correct distance from the wall. I now have the heat shield at green mountains recommend 4 1/4” (Daniel Boone) and it is staying within 4 degrees of set point. Apparently if the heat shield is off by less than a half an inch it can cause huge temperature fluctuations and probably why my ribs didn’t get the bark I wanted. Also why I was running through pellets

Hey, look at me, nailed it! I've got mine placed in the right spot but will still rotate food just because it's tough to get it perfectly distributed.

As an aside, their customer service is so good and fast.

I've had mine for about 4 years. Love my GMG. Many good meals have come off that grill

Apparently they extended their ridiculous Black Friday sale, so you might still be able to benefit.

Woot. Just ordered the stainless Daniel Boone from sportsman's Warehouse. Just gotta go pick it up. They wouldn't ship it. Huge discount.

Enjoy man. The first time I put a brisket on at about 11 p.m. and then slept for 8 full, I woke up with a smile on my face.
