I underlined all my issues with it. That also seems like a lot of liquid boil for one sack. And also that's a lot of onion for me.

you really think 4 beers is gonna add any flavor to the rest of all that? waste of beer is what's wrong here.

It's not that bad. I mean, it shouldn't produce bad tasting crawfish in it, but there are a lot of useless things being thrown in there. Such as:

3 cup vegetable oil
4 cans light beer
Too many onions - but I guess it can't hurt
1 bunch green onion
4 sticks butter

Zatarains instant diced onion - wtf is this?

Do you really need more salt after adding dry and liquid boil seasoning?

Why? You're adding onions and garlic later, this just seems wasteful.

3 cup vegetable oil

Don't really see the point of this AND the butter you add later.

4 cans light beer

You'll never know these were added. Might as well drink them.

12 garlic bulbs halved

Don't halve your garlic bulbs, leaving them whole will help keep all the garlic contained and they will still soak up plenty of seasoning.

It’s wasteful and pointless. Regardless.

So this isn't my boil recipe but a buddy's. He's had a few boils at his house this year and the crawfish are honestly pretty good. He sent me this but I had some reservations about it.

I had the same thoughts about the oil, butter, so much onion, salt, and the beer.

I'm guessing I don't need the oil, salt, or beer. I'm going to cut the amount of onions in half and see how it goes.

Can't imagine they'd be bad except maybe a little salty. I prefer a little more citrus in mine as well.

That's why I'm asking.

I will say every time I've had his crawfish, they've been pretty good.

I don't really have a problem with it other than these things. It's more than what I usually put in my boil, but the only WTF items are above.

Sounds like everything is good except for the oil, butter, and beer.

Guess I can figure it out from there.
