Tailgate Catering -> LSU/Army

Afternoon... we are hosting a tailgate for ~15 folks for the Army game (including a few West Point grads...) and wanted see if people had good Catering recommendations.
Some background -> I am an LSU grad, many game, many years...but coming from out of state so the group did a pre-paid tailgate set-up near Taylor. they get you tables, coolers with ice, etc... but we need food and drinks (drinks I can figure out
)
Too much effort to cook from coming out of state, so looking for some Louisiana tailgates staples we can pick-up day before and bring over.
Something like Montalbano's where we can get few trays for the usual stuff.
Of note, most of the crew coming are west point grads and vets. I have indicated they will have more food and drinks tossed at them than they can humanely eat; but still want some stuff at the tailgate.
thanks

Not sure what kind of foot you want but there's a Mathernes grocery on campus that does a variety of trays. I think they will deliver to the area where your tailgate is. Superior grill maybe if you want to go Mexican.

It may be easier to join us at the West Point Alumni tailgate. Your friends can get information from AOG website. It will be catered with an open bar option.

I certainly understand it might not be ideal but it was the most practical spot for a large tailgate. It will be more than “hanging out” at Walk On’s. We will have private secluded area under big tents, buffet of typical Cajun foods, multiple private bars set up with a selection of beer, wine and “premium” hard liquor. All you can eat and drink for three hours for $100 per head. There is an option for just food and cash bar for the non drinkers. Plus it’s in close proximity to free parking and walking distance to the stadium.
By the time you rent space from LSU, cater your foods, and bring a bunch of beer, alcohol, soft drinks, etc, you’ll probably be in for $100 a person as well.

That’s not a tailgate, it’s a catered outdoor event space off campus. But you’re right, it’s the easiest way to host a party for the game. It makes sense for your event. But I still admire the real tailgaters who keep the tradition alive.

Of course it’s not a traditional tailgate but then again traditional tailgates aren’t designed to host several hundred people at one time. We tried to create the traditional tailgate environment but unfortunately it just wasn’t logistically practical to host something of this magnitude on campus. I understand it’s not ideal and not for everyone. I entered the conversation because the OP is coming from out of state with West Point graduates and looking for a caterer. I was just letting the OP know that we have a Plan B available should he decide that works for his group. If not, no big deal.

Why do you feel the need to belabor this point? Dude was trying to help.

Who's belaboring? I specifically acknowledged that what he was doing was the best option. As far as the tailgate talk goes, it was all in jest. Lighten up.

@Armytiger96... quick word of thanks and apology.
Was too quick to dismiss the set-up over @ Walk-ons. It will work well for the large number of out of state West Point Alumni you will likely have.
We are still sticking it out in the tailgate section given the mix of folks we have but will let my dad (class of '66) and cousin (class of '18...I think?) know you guys are over there. They may venture over for a drink.
Should be a fun game.

No worries. I hope y’all have a great trip. I may have mentioned this before . . . One of your dad’s classmates, BG McFarren, was the Comm when I was a cadet.

Have you heard of any other WP tailgates being planned on campus? ‘05 grad and having a couple classmates coming in for the game

The local society, led by one of your classmates, is planning the one at Walk On’s. My guess is there will be several sporadic tailgates around campus by groups that are traveling together or classes that are having a “mini reunion.” I am not aware of any other large, coordinated WP tailgates.
