People are disgusted by the thought of eating nutria meat, but I think it tastes excellent if you cook it right.

The ability to discern cow from horse meat flavor has got to so low it is unfathomable.

It's my understanding that most US horses are given drugs that render them unsafe to eat.

Yup. My 2 have had about 8 on the no eat list. It's not off the wall drugs either. Lots of stuff every horse owner gives.

It will be interesting to see if all of these companies were mixing horse as filler or if it was just the company grinding it wasn't cleaning up after they finished grinding horse meat.

I wouldn't be surprised if the processing plant just didn't clean up.

A customer of mine's family owns a the business that does the slaughtering/cooking/packaging over 80% of all the TB meats consumed in the US and 100% of the beans. Those old cows you see with their hips protruding is what they buy. Not the same class of beef that goes to the feed lots for the beef you buy at the grocery. If you cook it enough and add enough spice/chemistry you can make anything taste OK/ruin your anus.
