Sweet Dough Pie recipe?

Anyone out there have a solid recipe for making those traditional Cajun Sweet dough pies? Mainly looking for the dough recipe and preparation - not so much the filling part. Used to love those growing up way back when. Thanks for any info.!

That recipe makes open-faced hand pies that are baked instead of fried (some people do fried pies for the Sweet Dough Pie Festival). The article shows instructions for blackberry filling, but I like them more with bouille or lemon curd filling.
