State Fair food crawl.

alajones2 and I bought tickets to a food crawl that went between fair food vendors. Everything is deep fried.
Started off with Fried Watermelon. It was a fail for me. The breading was sliding off of the chunks and it was soggy. They gave us a dipping sauce of cinnamon marshmallow. It reminded me of apple pie chunks. Not a fan. Glad I didn’t pay $8 for a plate.




Next up, deep fried Twinkies. Dayum. These were plum delicious. The batter was just crisp enough and the Twinkie was soft and warm. Top 3 of the night for me.


Next, corn dog. It was a good, well made corn dog.


Next was a funnel cake. I’m am a funnel cake junkie. It was delicious. But, it was still just a funnel cake.


Chicken on a stick. My favorite of the night. Perfectly battered and kind of spicy.


Then, fried pineapple. It was good. Not a huge pineapple fan. But it was tasty.

Next, deep fried cheddar cheese. So good. Tied for second place with the Twinkie’s.


Next was deep fried ribs. They were swimming in some sort of Asian sauce. Not a fan.


Next was deep fried honey wontons. Very good. Fourth on my list.

Last, Deep fried bacon. Excellent way to finish. Bacon is amazing.
