I figured in Louisiana every day was corn dog day!

J/K

We pack our sons lunch everyday also. My son loves leftovers, it amazes me?!I've purposely started smoking an extra chicken on the regular so we can make chicken salad with it, one of his favorites!!

We had awesome lunches when I was in school. My favs was the Salisbury steak and the awesome gumbo during the winter.

During lent we would have either fishsticks, grilled cheese w/ vegetable soup .....and sometimes tuna salad.

I remember during lent the non-catholic kids would always complain about why they have to eat what everyone else is eating and they didn't have anything else to choose from.

I like how they have household size's of one. How is there a household of one that also needs school lunches? does that just assume the kid has no parents?

Right? I guess they have to do it in case some 17-18 year old lives alone? Or if they're a runaway/homeless? No idea.

I went to Orleans Parish Public Schools. Osborne, Livingston, and Abramson. Never had an issue with the food. Gumbo and grilled cheese day was great. Baked Spaghetti was awesome. Hot sausage po boys, red beans, foot long hot dogs, baked chicken with dressing, ... it was good.

I always had free lunch because we were on food stamps, and even after my Mom went back to school and got a job and got off of stamps, she barely made it.

Today, my Wife and I prepay full price online for our son's lunch here in Gwinnett County, GA.

You can better believe our boys don't get free or reduced lunch. My Mom used the system the way it was suppose to be used ... a hand up, not a hand out.
