I have been craving good soup dumplings after I have seen a Facebook ad for them. The problem is, there are none in Cenla that I have found. I don’t want to drive to Houston yet but It may just come to that if I can’t get this monkey off of my back. Are there any Asian markets in Lafayette / BR / Cenla that sell decent quality soup dumplings?

That is what I have been seeing but I can’t bring myself to drop $100 on them.

Are they that good? I might just have to pull that trigger.

I love soup dumplings. I've made them a couple times and they were very good, but damn, they are a lot of work. Mostly the rolling out of the dough for each dumpling is a huge PITA.

I still need to work on my dumpling making technique.

I know the Asian market in BR on Florida has a large selection of soup dumplings. I've never tried them though

I bought a bamboo steamer off of amazon and used the hell out of it. Bought it initially for sticky rice, but ended up using it for all sorts of things. My rice cooker has a built in steamer now, so the bamboo doesn't get much use

The only ones I’ve ever had were there at the Asian seafood restaurant. I really enjoyed them. I couldn’t tell you if they were legit other than we were basically the only white folks there and I like the food.

Have you tried Noodles & Grill in Alexandria?

97.4562% sure they have soup dumplings on the menu and if they do, they will be damn good. Everything they do is damn good.

if that's the place over by hobby lobby I think they go each week to the Asian market in Houston and return with all kinds of stuff to sell. I think they use to do it on wed morning maybe. At least they used to, I haven't checked in on it in some time now

That's the one.
FYI. If you ever eat there, when they ask you how hot (spicy) you want your food, tell them mild to medium. Their "hot" should be on a Man vs Food challenge.

The ones at Costco in the frozen section are surprisingly good.

Read what the OP posted. He is in Cenla, not NOLA.
