Steaming or boiling?
they are already cooked so you only need to heat them up.
Best way I have found is sprinkle with seasoning and steam them for 5-10 minutes while you clarify some butter.

Zero. They taste great as they are. Just some melted butter to dip them in for my wife.

They don't need any seasoning IMO. As stated, they're cooked already, so you just want to warm them, and I usually steam them.

I injected melted butter and garlic into the legs and claws. Then smoked for 20 minutes and finished on the pit for 5 minutes (not on direct flame). Worth the effort

Depends on how much water you're using. Sounds like way too much, to me. I wouldn't use crab boil on those, anyway, though.

If you add too much, you will ruin them. I'm not sure why you want to boil them or use crab boil. They're already cooked and have a lovely flavor. All they need to some heat from steam and melted butter and lemon.

Read the directions on the crab boil if you're going to do that and make sure you don't overdo it. That would be such a shame.

An alternative could be to melt the butter and add a little bit of crab boil to that if you're dead set on a crab boil flavor for them. You could melt some butter with it and some without and see what you think.

You could also try one cluster or a few legs in the water and test taste it to see what you think before putting them all in.
