You guys were talking about this a while back. I had never heard of it, but was intrigued. Made it for lunch today. Gonna need a long nap, because I'm full as a tick and happy. That stuff is good.

I probably didn't do as good a job with it as your moms's and grandmother's, but it was still very good.

Thanks!

For the recipe, you need:

1-2 lbs shrimp (peeled)
2 lbs okra, cut
1 onion (diced)
1 green pepper (diced)
2 stalks celery (diced)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 pound sausage (cut into bite-sized chunks and browned)
1 can Rotel
8 oz Chicken broth (maybe more)
1/4 teaspoon each, red, white, and black pepper
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon Tony's (to taste)

Then:

Wash and dry okra, cut into bite-sized pieces.
Brown okra in a little olive oil in a skillet, set aside.
In another skillet, saute the onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic, then add to okra and mix well.
Add the browned sausage and mix well.
Add the Rotel and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Add the chicken broth and spices and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
Add shrimp and cook until pink,
Serve over rice.
